An ex-author in his early 60’s finds solitude within his own writing after the recent loss of his wife, detaching himself from the life he once knew in order to cope. However, this soon changes when he receives a foreign letter from a mysterious love that he must translate before it’s too late.
Being my first short film at university, Dear Eric was an incredibly nerve-wracking but hugely rewarding experience that I will always look back on fondly. Myself and a team of very talented filmmakers set out to create a rather ambitious first-time short, featuring the likes of a full studio set build (constructed and dressed by Megan Lansdell and Eve O'Malley) and multiple locations in a 60's period setting. This project really propelled my love for filmmaking and directing in particular, giving me the confidence and enthusiasm to pursue more challenging future projects.
